What You’ll Study

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics degree program requires a total of 122 credit hours.

Housed within the School of Sciences, the engineering physics major places a greater emphasis on physics than the BS in Civil Engineering and the BS in Mechanical Engineering. This means that you take courses in topics such as optics, quantum mechanics, thermal physics, electromagnetism, special relativity, and engineering instrumentation.

As an engineering physics major, you experience how a multidisciplinary approach aligns with your coursework, allowing you to spark innovation in each of your labs. The BS in Engineering Physics degree features the following four areas of coursework:

  • General Education – 24 credits
  • School of Science Support – 19 credits
  • Engineering Physics Major – 63 credits
  • Major-Specific Electives – 16 credits
